The J.V. Wing Snowmobile Club was formed in 1987 and is nestled in the heart of Maine's Northwestern Mountains, in the scenic town of Carrabassett Valley. Sugarloaf Mountain Resort is a part of our community and the Bigelow and Popular Mountain ranges surround us. Our Club offers 55+ miles of trails that are on and around these breathtaking vista's.

On our trails, you can tour the Bigelow Land Preserve and then visit the Bigelow Lodge located out in the wilderness. It is a great place to go and eat your packed lunch or have a donut and a hot cup of coffee and warm up.

The Bigelow Lodge is owned by the State of Maine and opens on weekends and school vacation weeks. When open, the Lodge is attended by local Travis Roderick ready to greet you and share his knowledge about the area, resources, and directions. The Lodge is open to snowmobilers, cross-country skiers, snowshoers, and hikers beginning as soon as we have snow enough to groom trails and extending throughout the entire season until we stop grooming towards the end of March.

The Club is also part of "The Black Fly Loop", a vast network of trails that are 228 miles long and considered to offer the widest variety of riding in the East.

Our trails are groomed with a 2016 Prinoth BR-350 pulling a 10' MaxeyDrag and a 2011 Pisten Bully Trail Bully pulling an 8' Mogul Master Drag to accommodate our 10' plus wide trails, and the best of riding conditions. We are committed and continuously working on trail improvements throughout the year.

We are the hub for snowmobiling, you can start in Carrabassett Valley and ride to Eustis, on to Rangley, and then on to Canada, or ride to Greenville, Farmington, or New Hampshire. We are a 100% M.S.A. affiliated Snowmobile Club and very proud to promote safe snowmobiling in our area.

We have designated parking for your convenience at the town parking area, behind the snowmobile club. You can get fuel just up the road at Ayotte's General Store and non-ethanol fuel at the Airport 24/7 or connect to the trails using the multipurpose Bill Munzer Bridge that crosses the Carrabassett River.

Please Join Us,  Membership dues go to help support maintaining our vast network of trails. Our rides include cookouts, rides to dinner, or possible overnights. We also offer snowmobile and trailer storage, please Contact Us for more information.
