The Kibby Wind Power Project will be the largest wind power development in New England, providing enough clean, renewable energy for the equivalent of 50,000 average Maine homes.
The 44 wind turbines will be capable of producing 132 megawatts of electricity. TransCanada worked closely with major environmental groups in Maine from the inception of the project, applying the results of environmental and technical studies to minimize environmental and other impacts.
SJR Engineering served as Third Party Inspector to the project, ensuring regulatory compliance where erosion and sediment control are concerned. SJR provided regular written and photographic reports to Maine’s Land Use Regulatory Commission (LURC).
