"Delivering on a promise is our goal while delivering an exceptional level of customer service."
That means respecting your time and schedule and paying close attention to the details. Our high standards also mean thoroughly training our employees to do their jobs with the greatest skill and expertise. Because your comfort and safety are our concern, we maintain rigorous certification standards for our licensed technicians. Whenever you call upon us, we will be there. This is how we Deliver on A Promise.
Founded in 1909 by Charles Hutchins, Dead River Company had its roots in the forest products industry. The company was named for the Dead River, which flowed through much of its timberland in remote areas of Western Maine. In the 1930s, Curtis Hutchins took over the management of the company from his father. The purchase of a small petroleum bulk storage plant, four gasoline stations, and an Esso franchise in 1936, marked Dead River Company's entrance into the petroleum business.
Steady expansion throughout Eastern, Northern, and Central Maine followed, and we established our headquarters in Bangor. In 1981, we sold nearly all of our timberland to the Passamaquoddy Tribe and the Penobscot Indian Nation as part of a historic settlement.
What sets Dead River Company apart from the competition is our commitment to delivering on a promise of exceptional customer service. Dead River Company takes pride in the way we care for our customers and keep their needs at the forefront of all that we do. Some of our “value-added” programs and services include price protection and payment plans to meet our customers’ needs; service contracts; fully licensed and trained service technicians; 24-hour on-call drivers and technicians; quality products; and a long history of “being there” for our customers.
